dj soul is on a roll


happy monday!
(this is the hi res version just added today...taken from a tape from a radio station)
it wasn't until this month that i found out that Q-Tip did the rap in the breakdown!?

q-tip! we all called him jonathan because yvonna refused to call him anything but his given name. that was the summer we had the window on the 11th floor that was stuck open and we just ran the air conditioner anyway... one time becky had to have bella shaved. Bella was her black persian kittie that had the tiniest smushiest little face you ever saw and resperatory problems and couldn't clean herself very well... she would try but for some reason would just end up licking the air instead of her fur. her fur would always get matted and one time the groomer had to shave her whole body except they left the fur around her head, a poof at the end of her tail and 4 poofy paws, kinda like a poodle except a cat. she was a feisty little thing tho and it didn't faze her. and when jonathan came over she went running past him and he jumped and said "what the f was that!" we told him it was Bella with a new haircut and he said " i thought it was a monkey!" we couldn't stop laughing for days... poor bella. she really had spunk tho. and for some reason that is the story i always think of anytime someone says anything about q-tip...

oh! and this video was my favoritist ever. we used to stand in front of the tv and try to dance like her whenever it came on...

in sassy magazine there was an article on "how to dance" (because i didn't know "how") and i practiced quite a few times in front of the mirror the way they suggested...i would be happy to show you when i see you in person

actually it was bought out in the late 90s and run into the ground. the editor (jane pratt) went on to start Jane magazine which held down for quite a few years...then that got bought out as well and genericamasized. anyway...time to start a magazine! hahaha

hahah yea they had step by step instructions to that and a few other songs...i SO WISH i didn't throw my sassys away!
